Our Services
Sports pitch maintenance services to improve grass pitch quality across the county
Slitting
An essential aeration process that uses thin blades, discs, or tines to cut narrow vertical slices into the soil, relieving compaction and improving water drainage without disrupting the playing surface.
Seeding
The specialised process of applying and establishing high-performance grass seed cultivars to build, repair, or overseed sports pitches.
Shockwaving
A specialised tractor-drawn aeration process that uses a linear decompactor to relieve deep soil compaction in sports pitches.
Scarifying
The process of vigorously removing moss, dead grass, and organic buildup (thatch) from the base of a lawn to let water, air, and nutrients reach the roots.
Grass Cutting
Specialist, professional-grade mowing uses advanced machinery and technical practices to promote turf health, smooth playing surfaces, and strong root development.
Herbicide & Fertiliser Applications
The combined treatment of weed-control chemicals and grass-nourishing nutrients used to eliminate unwanted plants while promoting a thick, green playing surface.
Setting the Standard for Pitch Quality
Staffordshire FA is leading the way with a major new investment in grassroots football facilities, becoming one of the first County FAs in England to establish an in-house Grounds & Pitch Care Service, reinforcing its commitment to improving football facilities across the County.
This paid for service will provide clubs, leagues and facility providers offering grassroots football with a dedicated, specialist pitch care service to help improve the quality of our grass pitches.
This investment forms part of Staffordshire FA’s long-term commitment to improving the places where football is played and is complemented by the appointment of two dedicated members of staff who will support clubs, leagues and grassroots sites in enhancing both natural grass pitches and artificial grass facilities.
